The Picasso warm up was the most helpful to me. I always just draw what I think should be there, not what I really see. I think doing that warm up really helped me just draw the shapes I saw and not think too much about it. Composition is the placement of visual elements. Value is the lightness or darkness in a color. It helps make pieces look more realistic and gives them more depth.

The charcoal drawing was my favorite. I really liked that if you messed up it was very easy to go back and fix it. I also think it was the most fun. I liked that for that one, we could do a picture of anything. The pen was my least favorite, because every time I made a mistake there was so way to fix it. I also found it a lot more difficult to create value in my piece because the pen was so dark. Although I did not like that I could not go back while doing the pen, I also liked that I didn't second guess myself. If i made a mistake I just found a way to fix it instead of worrying about erasing or covering it up. I was not in the class for the first few days of school, so you told me I could choose two of the three mediums to do. I chose to do charcoal because it was something I had never done before and it seemed fun, and the pen because i thought it would be challenging(which it definitely was).
